St-Fargheon (Bourg-Lastic)
The Catholic parish church of Saint-Fargheon in Bourg-Lastic , a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme in the French region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes , was in the 12th century in the style of Romanesque a priory of the monastery Port-Dieu built the the Benedictine Abbey La Chaise-Dieu was subordinate. The church has figuratively carved corbels and capitals from the construction period. In 1913, the church was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as a monument historique .

Exterior construction
The octagonal bell tower covered with a pyramid roof rises above the crossing . The bell storey is pierced on all sides by arched sound openings. The apse is divided by half columns and arched windows. Under the roof approach of the tower, the apses and the southern transept runs a series of corbels that, like the capitals of the columns, are carved with heads and different motifs. The pillars of the south transept are crowned by reliefs with heads, braided ribbons and depictions of animals. The slightly pointed south portal is framed by slender pillars and archivolts studded with heads and buds. The capitals of the columns are decorated with heads from which braided bands and leaf tendrils grow. The side chapels were added to the nave in the 15th century .

The church is built on the plan of a Latin cross . A transept that does not protrude adjoins the single-nave nave. The square choir opens into a semicircular main apse with two smaller lateral apses. The apse is vaulted with a dome , the crossing with a trumpet dome. The nave, divided into four bays , is covered by a pointed barrel that rests on wide arcades. It is reinforced by belt arches that are supported by half-columns with capitals.
Capitals
Masks and human faces, figures and plants are depicted on the capitals. On two capitals you can see a stylized tree with large leaves and a human head.
