NGC 2688 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Ursa Major . It is an estimated 699 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 60,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2684 , NGC 2686 , NGC 2687 and NGC 2689 .
The object was discovered by RJ Mitchell on March 11, 1858 .
