NGC 2704 = IC 2424 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab with an active galaxy core in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is an estimated 317 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 2691 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 18, 1787 .
