The Swiss Association for General Education (SVABU; French Union Suisse de l'enseignement de la Culture Générale (USEBG) , Italian Unione Svizzera per l'insegnamento della cultura generale (USICG) ) is the professional association of teachers for general education (ABU) in Switzerland. It was founded in 1984.

The SVABU represents the professional interests of the teachers nationally. He acts as a negotiating partner for the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). He participates in the further development and quality assurance of general education through his seat in bodies such as the ABU Commission of SERI and the Federal Commission for Vocational Training Managers (EKBV).

He also works with the training and further education institutions of ABU teachers ( Federal University Institute for Vocational Education and Training (EHB), Eastern Switzerland Competence Center for Vocational Education and Training (OKB), Zurich University of Education (PHZH)) and professional associations. It belongs to the Swiss Association for Vocational Education (BCH) as a specialist section.
