IC 2435 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E5 in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 276 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2750 and NGC 2753 , among others .
The object was discovered on April 8, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
