IC 2423 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 403 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 120,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 2422 .
The object was discovered on April 6, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
