IC 2428 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 190 million light years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 ly in diameter.
The type IIP supernova SN 2011hn was observed here.
The object was discovered on April 8, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
