IC 2426 is a lenticular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 168 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 20,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2713 , NGC 2716 , NGC 2723 , among others .
The object was discovered on March 23, 1900 by Stéphane Javelle .
