NGC 2713 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Water Snake south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 169 million light years from the Milky Way and about 185,000 light years across .
The galaxies NGC 2716 , NGC 2723 , IC 2426 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 3, 1864 .
