NGC 2728 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 251 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 2720 , NGC 2725 , IC 526 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 10, 1864 .
