NGC 2748 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Giraffe in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 72 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
Together with NGC 2591 , NGC 2655 , NGC 2715 , it forms the NGC 2655 group .

The supernovae SN 1985A ( Type-Ia ), SN 2013ff (Type-Ic) and SN 2017gkk (Type-IIb) were observed here.

The object was discovered by John Herschel on September 2, 1828 .
