NGC 2759 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Lynx at the northern sky . It is an estimated 310 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 527 and IC 2434 .
The object was discovered on March 30, 1787 by the astronomer William Herschel .
