IC 527 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 307 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 110,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2759 and IC 2434 .
The supernova candidate ASASSN -14ar is observed here.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on April 19, 1890 .
