IC 515 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 388 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2616 , IC 514 , IC 516 , IC 517 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 21, 1893 .
