IC 499 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Cepheus the northern sky . It is an estimated 91 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly. Together with u. a. NGC 2268 , NGC 2276 , NGC 2300 , IC 455 , IC 469 and IC 512 make up the NGC 2276 group .

The object was discovered on September 8, 1890 by William Frederick Denning .
