IC 480 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Gemini on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 201 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 478 and IC 479 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 18, 1892 .
