IC 468 in the index catalog designates three apparently closely spaced stars in the constellation of the Great Dog . The catalog entry goes back to an observation by the astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan on February 25, 1887. However, due to a coordinate error, it could also be the northwestern extension of the nebula ( NGC 2359 ).
