IC 455 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Cepheus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 99 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 35,000 light years in diameter. Together with u. a. NGC 2268 , NGC 2276 , NGC 2300 , IC 469 , IC 499 and IC 512 make up the NGC 2276 group .
The object was discovered by William Frederick Denning on October 17, 1890 .
