IC 454 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Gemini on the ecliptic . It is around 172 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 65,000 light years.

The type IIb supernova SN 2000H was observed here.

The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on December 27, 1889 .
