IC 460 is a compact elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is around 284 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 35,000 light years.
The galaxies IC 458 , IC 459 , IC 463 , IC 464 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by Hermann Kobold on December 2, 1893 .
