IC 474 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Gemini on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 362 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 105,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies NGC 2449 , NGC 2450 , IC 476 , IC 2205 , among others .

The object was discovered on January 30, 1892 by Stéphane Javelle .
