IC 437 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Rabbit in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 300 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 11, 1893 .
