IC 422 = IC 2131 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Rabbit in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 126 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 19, 1893 .
