IC 407 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Hase southern of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 120 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 80,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there is u. a. the galaxy IC 415 .
The object was discovered on December 7, 1891 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
