IC 415 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Hare north of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 145 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 25,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1906 and IC 407 .
The object was discovered on December 7, 1891 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
