IC 433 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Rabbit in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 315 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on February 18, 1893 by the French astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
