IC 390 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is around 208 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 65,000 light years .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 385 , IC 387 , IC 388 , IC 389 .
The Type Ia supernova SN 2004B was observed here.
The object was discovered on January 28, 1892 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
