IC 370 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 431 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 180,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 1575 , among others .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 9, 1893 .
