IC 385 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is around 194 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 65,000 light years .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 387 , IC 388 , IC 389 , IC 390 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 9, 1893 .
