IC 382 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Eridanus at the southern sky . It is estimated to be 219 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 150,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 1632 .
The object was discovered on February 6, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
