IC 362 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E4 in the constellation Eridanus the southern sky . It is an estimated 396 million light years away from the Milky Way and is approximately 205,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on October 14, 1891 .
