IC 355 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Taurus on the ecliptic . It is around 387 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 55,000 light years .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 15, 1892 .
