IC 335 = IC 1963 is a lens-shaped galaxy in edge position of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is around 67 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 45,000 light years . The object is listed as a member of the Fornax galaxy cluster under catalog number FCC 153 .

The galaxy was discovered by Lewis Swift on October 15, 1887 . Ten years later, on September 7, 1897, it was observed again by Swift, but was not recognized as IC 335 and thus registered again, this time with the name IC 1963.
