IC 380 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 225 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 375 , IC 376 , IC 377 , IC 378 .
The object was discovered on October 13, 1891 by Stéphane Javelle .
