IC 526 is a galaxy with an active galaxy core in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 253 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2720 , NGC 2725 , NGC 2728 .
The object was discovered on April 19, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
