IC 526 is a galaxy with an active galaxy core in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 253 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2720 , NGC 2725 , NGC 2728 .

The object was discovered on April 19, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
