IC 525 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 252 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 20, 1893 .
