Chronometrophilia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chronométrophilia is the name derived from the Greek for the Swiss Association of Watchmakers (In French: Association Suisse des amateurs d'horlogerie ).

The Chronométrophilia unites watch enthusiasts, watch collectors and professionals from the watch industry, helps them to personal contacts and to information about watchmaking and timekeeping that can be historical, scientific and artistic. The society was founded in 1975 as the "Swiss Society for the History of Timekeeping" in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Today it still has around 400 members, most of whom live in Switzerland. The Chronométrophilia has association structures and does not pursue any commercial purposes.
