Zhu Ting ( Chinese 朱 婷 , Pinyin Zhū Tíng ; born November 29, 1994 in Dancheng , Henan Province ) is a Chinese volleyball player . She is captain of the Chinese national team and won with Tianjin 's team Tianjin Bohai Bank in January 2020, the Chinese Volleyball Super League (CVL); in March 2020 she was named there as the most valuable player.
Zhu was runner-up in Italy in 2014 . In 2015 she became Asian champion and won the World Cup in Japan . A year later, she won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2018, Zhu won bronze with the national team in the Nations League and the World Cup in Japan and won the Asian Games in Jakarta . In 2019 she again won bronze in the Nations League and again the World Cup in Japan.
Zhu played abroad at Vakıfbank Istanbul from 2016 to 2019 and was considered the highest paid volleyball player in the world. With the club she was twice Turkish champion, twice won the European Champions League and was twice club world champion .
In her career, Zhu has received many awards as “Most Valuable Player ( MVP )” and “Best (Outside) Attacker” both at national team and club level .
