The 2015 Volleyball World Cup was the twelfth edition of the competition. It took place in Japan between August 22nd and September 6th . This competition was also considered a qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games .
The twelve participants played three rounds, informally divided into two groups. The system was “everyone against everyone”, which means that each team had to play 11 games in 16 days (with 5 days off). The number of wins was decisive for the placement. For a 3-0 or 3-1 win, the winner received three points and the loser no point. If the match was 3: 2, the winner received two points and the loser one point. The first two teams qualified directly for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
