Women's Volleyball World Cup 1991

The 1991 Volleyball World Cup was the sixth edition of the competition. It took place in Japan between November 8th and 17th . Cuba won the title.

•  USSR and Germany as the winner and third place in the 1991 European Championship 
•  People's Republic of China and South Korea as winner and third place in the 1991 Asian Cup 
•  Cuba and USA as winner and runner-up of the NORCECA championship in 1991 
•  Brazil and Peru as finalists of the 1991 South American Championship 
•  Kenya won the 1991 African Cup
•  Spain and Canada at the invitation of the FIVB

The twelve participants were initially divided into two groups of six teams each. The first three teams of the two groups then formed the final group and the rest played in one group for places seven to twelve.
