history

World Championship

In 1974 in Mexico, the Canadians first took part in a volleyball world championship and finished eleventh. Four years later they finished 14th, after which they came eleventh again. In 1986 and 1990 they reached the 15th and 14th place. At the 2002 World Cup they took part again, but did not get beyond 17th place.

Olympic games

At the 1976 Games , Canada was the worst of eight teams despite home advantage. The same result came in 1984 in Los Angeles . At the 1996 tournament , the Canadian women finished ninth.

NORCECA championship

At the first NORCECA championship in 1969, the Canadians narrowly missed the medal ranks as fourth, but in 1973 they were only defeated in the final against Cuba . Then they finished fourth or third seven times before they were again in the final against Cuba in 1989. Two years later, they took third place again in their own country. The same result was achieved three times by 1999, and Canada was fourth in 1997. In 2001, Canadian women were absent for the first time in thirty years. Then they finished fourth, fifth and - in 2007 in front of their own audience - fourth.

World cup

When the Canadian women first entered the World Cup in 1973, they achieved their best result in seventh place. In 1989 they returned to eighth place. The next two tournaments they finished in tenth and ninth place.

World Grand Prix

In the World Grand Prix Canada has so far only played in 2003 and occupies the eleventh place.
