The Puerto Rican men's national volleyball team is a selection of the best Puerto Rican players who represent the Federación Puertorriqueña de Voleibol in international tournaments and internationals.

history

World Championship

When they first participated in a volleyball world championship , the Puerto Ricans did not get past 23rd place in 1974. In 1982 they climbed to 15th place. At the 2006 World Cup , they were twelfth.

Olympic games

Puerto Rico has never qualified for the Olympics.

NORCECA championship

The Puerto Ricans took part in all NORCECA championships except 1975 and 1979 . At the premiere in 1969 they finished sixth, then three times fourth. In the 1980s they took fifth and sixth place twice before they came fourth again in their own country in 1989. From 1991 to 2005 they reached fifth place seven times, only in 1995 they were one place better. They achieved their best result in the championship in 2007, when they were only defeated by hosts USA in the final .

World cup

At the 2007 World Cup , Puerto Rico finished sixth.

World league

At the first World League participation in 2011 , Puerto Rico did not get beyond the preliminary round.
