Life

Willi Kremer-Schillings graduated from Norbert-Gymnasium Knechtsteden in Dormagen in 1973 . He studied agriculture with a focus on crop production at the University of Bonn , where he worked as a student assistant and research assistant , and received his doctorate in 1981 on a subject in the field of crop production.

When he retired in 2014, the Zuckerrübenjournal published a report on Kremer-Schillings under the title “Dr. Kremer-Schillings in retirement ”. This shows that he began his professional career at Schering AG in Düsseldorf. Schering Aktiengesellschaft was one of Bayer Pharma's predecessor companies . At Schering AG, Kremer-Schillings was the product manager for follow -up herbicides , based on the active ingredient Betanal . During his time at Schering AG, he was already responsible for treating sugar beet. At lectures in the new federal states in 1990, he “preached”, according to the sugar beet journal, “the pure post-emergence treatment of beets”. During this time he came into contact with the sugar manufacturer Pfeifer & Langen .

Kremer-Schillings worked for the Pfeifer & Langen company for over 20 years. Among other things, he was head of the agricultural department in the main administration of Pfeifer & Langen and later took care of the raw material markets, especially the agricultural markets. Furthermore, Kremer-Schillings is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Buir-Bliesheimer Agricultural Cooperative , which, like many agricultural purchasing cooperatives , deals with seed propagation and processing, fertilizer advice and delivery, crop protection advice and trading in the corresponding products. Critics emphasize particularly the trade in agricultural chemicals, which also pesticides including that in organic farming are allowed.

He has been retired since 2014 and does public relations . According to the sugar beet journal, in 2014 he was still “represented in many committees in the sugar industry and beyond”.

In 2016, Piper Verlag published Kremer-Schilling's book Sauerei! in which the author talks about the lack of consumer recognition for farmers .

Kremer-Schillings runs the 40 hectare Steinbrückerhof farm in Rommerskirchen as a sideline . Most of the field work is carried out by a neighboring farmer.

Kremer-Schillings is married and has a son and a daughter. In 2009 he co-founded the community foundation in Rommerskirchen.

Farmer Willi

Kremer-Schillings appears on the internet as farmer Willi . According to Kremer-Schillings, the project Bauer Willi has developed into a brand that he runs together with Alois Wohlfahrt, a farmer from the Allgäu. His partner supports him "especially in technical and organizational questions". Kremer-Schillings also says: “The very“ clear ”number of people has the advantage that we can decide quickly. We cover the expenses for the technology and other material costs through the fees I receive for lectures. Mr. Wohlfahrt gets it. This is important to us: Farmer Willi is independent and not obliged to anybody. "

The daily newspaper taz published an article in October 2019 which critically examines Kremer-Schilling's appearance as "Farmer Willi": His credibility is largely based on the fact that he does not appear to be part of "the agricultural industry ". However, information about his professional stations can not be found on his website or in his book.
