Part-time business

A part-time farming is, in contrast to the main time farm , an agricultural family business part time is managed. Businesses with less than 0.75 full-time employees are considered part-time businesses . For farms with 0.75 to 1.5 full-time employees, the total income is decisive for the classification: If less than 50% of the total income is earned with the farm, it is considered a part-time farm.

In the rural regions of the low mountain range with medium land yield and real division , this was the predominant form of agriculture until the second half of the last century. The farm owner needed a second job so that he could support his family.

Almost 10 percent of agricultural production is produced in part-time businesses. Part-time farms are not a transitional solution, but rather a fixture in the agricultural structure .
