Weirdly Perfect Friends is a German feature film by Marcus H. Rosenmüller that was released in German cinemas on April 4, 2019.
action
The two friends Emil and Frido bring their own doppelgangers to life in a mirror cabinet at the fair. These have exactly the characteristics that they do not have and that their parents would love to have in them. It goes without saying that the two copies should now do all the tiresome duties.
Eventually, however, the two friends discover that the doppelgangers have their own agenda. They threaten to be exposed as the clones keep making new demands. And getting rid of them doesn't seem that easy either.
production
The film was shot from December 12, 2017 to February 23, 2018 in Munich and Leipzig as well as in Bad Tölz's Alpamare water park after its closure.
reception
The film service wrote that the film was a “furious genre mix of sensitive family drama, smart comedy and absurd fantasy adventure”, “brilliantly played” and “joyfully staged”.
