Stone box from Levene

The northeast-southwest oriented stone box from Levene is located in the forest north of Stora Levene near Vara in Västergötland in Sweden .

The stone box consists of four preserved stones, which lie under a ceiling plate about 5.8 m long and 1.9 to 3.9 m wide. On the northwest side is a 3.9 × 1.35 m measuring 0.3 m thick plate (torn by frost). The long edges of the side stones are visible in their upper parts. The stone box was restored in 1923.

A cup stone measuring 1.15 × 0.9 × 0.6 m , which was originally about 60.0 m northeast, was moved nearby. It has around 60 bowls and longer grooves. The bowls have a diameter of 3.0 to 8.0 cm and depths between 0.5 and 2.0 cm. The oblong recesses measure 1.4 × 8 cm and are 1.5 to 5.5 cm deep.

Nearby is the Levene rune stone.
