The Süddeutsche Zeitung published two very conflicting reviews on April 22, 2015. On the one hand, it is said that Rosenmüller creates “a rousing homage with an excellent, atmospheric montage of archive material and informative interview sequences”. On the other hand, it was criticized that the “chapters of the big breakthrough, the Alpinkatzen successes, the world trips and the world music encounters” were only “rushed through superficially”. In addition, it was regretted that “Goisern does not deepen his philosophy of 'folk music renewal' anywhere” and that “none of the musical comrades have a say”. Instead, only "management voices" can be heard, so that in the end it is "just about smoothly ironed out image cultivation".
