NGC 2782 = Arp 215 is an active bar-spiral galaxy with a high rate of star formation of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation of the lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 113 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 2785 .

Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of galaxies with adjacent loops .

The object was discovered on March 18, 1787 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
