Arp 237 = UGC 5044 is an interacting galaxy pair in the constellation Leo , which is around 383 million light years from the Milky Way . The galaxy pair is part of the Hickson 38 galaxy group . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class galaxies showing signs of splitting .
