Arp 248 , also known as Wild's Triplet, is an interacting galaxy triplet in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 230 million light years away from the Milky Way . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class galaxies showing signs of splitting .
